Estimated Reading Time: 8 Minutes
It is not always possible to make Costa Rica real estate blogs interesting to every reader.
The hardest part is the title. If the title is terrible, readers won’t click on it. Then, if the title promises an interesting article and it isn’t, readers go away.
I always try to keep the variety in my articles, publishing one each week on the Easy Times, one each week on Ivo’s blog and two each month on the Tico Times real estate section. Plus some other articles as a guest writer here and there. That is a minimum of 130 articles every year. I’m not a very good writer; I’m a much better real estate broker. But as long as you keep coming back each week, I’ll keep writing.
I usually don’t like to look back, unless it is well worth it. For that reason, I have curated a small list of our most popular Costa Rica real estate blogs 2016 for you:
The Easy Times

The Corporation tax has been quite an issue this year. The corporation tax was declared unconstitutional in 2015. Then, the government presented a new tax law to Legislative Assembly (Congress). Find out now.

The Tico Times
Writing for a real newspaper and get people to read your articles is different than writing your own blog on a website. You get readers who are really interested in what you write and others that just do so because they’re bored. Other do it, so they can make ugly comments on the article, I’ve had plenty of those, believe me.
I am a real estate broker, not a writer, which makes it harder, but fun. In 2016, in the Tico Times real estate section, the #2 article was “Will U.S. election outcome drive people to Costa Rica?”. And for obvious reasons I’m picking the next one in line.
Fortunately, I have had the support of a real good editor: Karl Kahler, who I want to thank for all the help during 2016. Also, thanks to Tico Times graphic designer, Mariana Loaiza, to help me create Jack and use him for all my articles. The following Tico Times articles made it to the top 3:
# 3. Is qualifying a Costa Rica property buyer possible?
I wrote this article, like I do with quite a few others, because a reader asked a question about it in a comment. So I decided to attack the issue about qualifying buyers in Costa Rica. I’d never thought that so many readers would find the article so interesting that would hit 3rd place on the Tico Times most popular Costa Rica real estate blog 2016. Read now.
