Heredia is probably the province in Costa Rica with the most different microclimates in the country, so if you are looking to purchase a home in Costa Rica, you should have a good look at Heredia real estate.
The city is generally known for its cooler climate and more rainfall during the rainy season. But there are plenty of areas with different temperatures and amenities to choose from. Here are some very important facts on Heredia real estate amenities.
A Bedroom Community?
Heredia is the capital city of the Province of Heredia and is located on the north side of the Central Valley. For many years, Heredia was a bedroom community where most residents were working in San Jose. Heredia has grown little by little into a real city with great amenities like shopping malls, movie theaters, a university, Walmart, Pricemart, EPA and anything you need.
The growth made traffic a little busier and Heredia is now going through the same traffic problems as Santa Ana, San Pedro, and Alajuela. In 2004 Heredia had a population of around 103.894 which had grown into a population of 433,677 in 2010. For years, you would not find any condos in Heredia like gated communities or condo apartment buildings. But things are changing fast and Heredia has now become another hot area for Costa Rica real estate.
Living in Heredia suburbs
